Plushibes Are Coming Back In 2025
Hello plush folk! I come with a little update regarding the species' state and progress. If you missed the previous news post, please give it a read so you know what's going on and know what I'm talking about in this post!
My Personal Situation
At the time the hiatus started, I got into a huge artblock which I've been in on and off for the past couple of years, though it's been especially insistent since the hiatus. I've been getting out of this artblock and feel positive about it staying this way for a while! As long as it gives me enough time to make a brand new species sheet and trait sheets, I'm happy! Also, for about eight or nine months I've had a job now; food service in a zoo. Though it's fun, it's also tiring and takes a lot of my time in the busier season - January and February are going to be really calm months for me (because who visits a zoo in these cold months?) where I may only be working 0-2 days a week. I hope to take this time to actively work on the species.
The Traits
The traits were a big reason I put the species on hiatus. The traits were vague, confusing and simply not traits I was happy with -- and I realised I should be happy with the traits of my own species. I struggled for a while on what to do with them, and about a month or two ago I figured out roughly how I want to do this. Though the exact traits are still something I am working out, I thought it'd be nice to share this with you!
Traits were confusing as multiple categories of traits fell into the same category. For patches, for example, you needed a 'location' trait and a 'style' trait - the same went for tags and stuffing. This is, obviously, very confusing. The difference between styles and locations was important, I was going about it the wrong way.
After the revamp, plushibes will have a species sheet and/or a rarity sheet. The sheet will showcase the different rarities of a plushibe and their different attributes; a plushibes' or MYO's rarity will no longer only decide what traits you can use for your plushibe. The amount of patterns and detail you can put in patches, for example, will depend on whether your plushibe is common, rare or ultra-rare. The traits, however, will only determine the patch's locations/shapes.
If you make a design with a rare MYO, but only use common traits, the plushibe is still considered a rare plushibe. Similarly, if you have a common MYO but use an item to add rare traits, the plushibe is still considered a common plushibe.
This update will likely introduce an item to upgrade a plushibe's overall rarity - expect it to be an expensive one, though ;)
Other Things
There are some other things I want to mention or alert you all about!
Dailies will be paused soon! Likely before the end of the year. They will resume once the species opens again. I've let people collect their dailies and monthlies despite the species being inactive, but I feel like you've all gotten enough of a headstart now haha
The site will be updated to LK 3.0 (or 3.1 or... whatever the most recent version is) and may receive some new extensions to make this site a more fun and functional place! I will also look into a few bugs (the time displaying as AMT and the staff team having to deal with this one unidentifiable ghost notification all the time...)
Plushipals and plushipets will be removed! No, this doesn't mean I'm deleting the species, but there will be no different subspecies. A plushibe will just be a plushibe, and they can be humanoid, anthro or feral. Traits will be keeping all different forms in mind. Previously, the stitches/patches trait category depended on the subspecies; plushipals had patches and plushibes had stitches. This category will be split into two different categories and apply to all plushibes as a whole. The patches category decides patch location/shape, while the stitches category decides the stitches that hold these patches together and optional loose stitches.
This Christmas break, the zoo I work at holds an event where they're open in the evenings - I will be working a lot and at very late times, so expect me to remain a bit inactive during this time. I still check all notifications in the Discord server though.
Thank you for reading this all, and of you have any questions or concerns you can contact me or staff though Discord as usual! :)
